Long Beach Bat Mitzvah | Temple Israel

Maddie was called to the torah last weekend at Temple Israel in Long Beach.
Here she is singing with Rabbi Moskowitz and Cantor Finley.

The song builds to a crescendo below:

Maddie did a great job at her Bat Mitzvah. We will follow up shortly with another post from her rockin' reception at the Betty Reckas Cultural Center in Long Beach.

Orange County's Temple Beth Sholom | Rabbi Heidi Cohen & Cantor David Reinwald

It was our pleasure recently to do new headshots for the clergy at Orange County's Temple Beth Sholom in Santa Ana, senior Rabbi Heidi Cohen and Cantor David Reinwald.

Richard Agajanian, one of the members of the Graham & Graham Photography team, did the above shot for us.
TBS is one of our all-time favorite temples to document Bar & Bat Mitzvahs with photography and video. We love to listen to Rabbi Cohen and never miss her blog. In putting this post together, we pulled some of our favorite Rabbi Cohen shots--enjoy!

San Pedro wedding | Mary, Star of the Sea | Averill Park

It was back to Mary, Star of the Sea this weekend for Michelle and Andre's San Pedro wedding. This was the locale of our first church wedding, back in 2004, and it was great to return to the big church that dominates the skyline of beautiful downtown San Pedro.

After the wedding, the couple drove off in their classic Chevrolet to the jewel of San Pedro, Averill Park, home to many a post-wedding and post-quinceanera photo. Even with the misty Saturday, the park was full with photographers, but we were able to nab a nice prime spot by the bridge, where we loved capturing Michelle's reflection in the water.

Redondo Beach Wedding Photographer | Redondo Beach Wedding

Here's two more killer shots from last weekend's Redondo Beach wedding with Kristie and Ernie.
The first shot is the happy couple making their way down the aisle, in the sands of Redondo Beach (remember when we had great weather on a Saturday?)
The second was taken shortly before the wedding, featuring the beautiful bride and her lovely daughter at the family home.

Manhattan Beach Engagement Photos | Michelle & Andre

Saturday's the big day for Michelle and Andre! We just made a big print of this fabulous Manhattan Beach Engagement sunset shot for display at the reception, and can't wait to show it off!

Redondo Beach Wedding | Los Verdes Golf Course Reception

Krystie and Ernie got wed on the beaches of Redondo over the weekend, at the very end where the Strand comes to an end, with beautiful Palos Verdes as the backdrop.
The shot above is from the famous "15th Tee," at sunset, at the amazing Los Verdes Golf Course in Rancho Palos Verdes.

We love these candids of Krystie, taken during the toasts at the reception!

Long Beach Temple Israel Bar Mitzvah | Ryan

It was great to be back to Temple Israel for Ryan's Long Beach Bar Mitzvah ceremony this weekend.
Temple Israel is one of our favorites, and we photograph there often--in fact, we'll be returning again this month, and twice in November.

Mazel Tov, Ryan!

Automobile Driving Museum Bar Mitzvah Party | El Segundo

Here's more pix from Liam's Bar Mitzvah party at the El Segundo Automobile Driving Museum. Liam made his grand entrance in a classic blue Thunderbird, driving right onto the dance floor, where he jumped out of the car and danced the afternoon away with many, many of his friends.

Los Angeles Bar Mitzvah | Wilshire Boulevard Temple | Liam

It was Liam's turn at the Torah today, following brother Noah and sister Mia, at the beautiful Wilshire Boulevard Temple, Irmas campus, on the west side.

Liam, a South Bay dance student, had a wonderful grace about him up there, and infectious smile. He brought that big energy afterwards to a big, rockin' party at the El Segundo Automobile Driving Museum, a popular South Bay spot for Bar and Bat Mitzvah parties. It's filled with classic cars, and has a wonderful, intimate ballroom for dancing. We'll be back at the museum, in fact, on 10/16, for another party.
